Resolution Authorizing the Sale of Assets
Proposed Action
Staff recommends approval of the following motion:
Resolution authorizing the sale of assets from various City Departments as listed on
Exhibit A of the proposed resolution.
Passage of this resolution would allow the sale of assets to be sold through the Auction
Masters on -line auction site.
Overview
The Liquor Department is seeking City Council approval to sell a large assortment of
premiums received for liquor purchases as well as other assets which have exceeded
their useful life.
This on -line auction will be held in conjunction with the Heritage Center Fundraising
Auction of donated items provided by residents and area businesses,
Primary Issues to Consider
o When and how does the auction take place?
o How are the anticipated profits from these items to be used?
o How is city staff ensuring that assets and donated items don't become
intermingled?

Resolution authorizing the sale of assets
e When and how does the auction take place?
Auction Masters will take pictures and catalog all items. They will then be posted on
their website at www.auctionmasters.com
The items will be listed for approximately two weeks with an open inspection date to be
conducted two days prior to the final bidding date of Sunday, October 30 All items will
then be paid for and picked up on Tuesday, November 1 st .
• How are the anticipated profits from these items to be used?
The net proceeds from the city assets will go to the general fund.
Proceeds from the items titled Liquor Display Items, Liquor Premiums and Heritage
Center Equipment To Be Removed By Buyer will to towards the Heritage Center as
previously approved in the Heritage Center Activity Schedule.
How is city staff ensuring that city assets and donated items don't become
intermingled?
Items donated for the Heritage Center Fundraising Auction are being maintained and
sold at the Heritage Center. These donations are being acknowledged by the Parks &
Recreation resolution for acceptance of donations.
All City assets are being maintained and sold at the Water Treatment Facility,
Auction Masters will be issuing two separate checks with detailed catalog listings and
receipts to ensure funds are recorded separately and coded properly.

CITY OF LAKEVILLE
BE IT RESOLVED, that the assets listed on Exhibit A attached hereto are hereby
authorized to be sold to the highest responsible bidder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any items not sold as shown on Exhibit A attached
hereto are authorized to be donated.
