RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM LAKEVILLE
SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATION TO THE HERITAGE CENTER
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve resolution
accepting donation from Lakeville Senior Citizens Organization to the Heritage Center.
Overview
The Lakeville Senior Citizens Organization has conducted many fundraisers over the
years such as waffle breakfasts, bazaars and sale of discount dining cards in order to
provide financial support for a possible future Senior Center project. The organization
has raised a substantial amount of money and would like to present it to the City of
Lakeville for use on the Heritage Center project.
Doreen Machin, Secretary of the Lakeville Senior Citizens Organization will present a
check in the amount of $100,000.00 to the City of Lakeville for the Heritage Center
project.
On behalf of the Lakeville Senior Center, Lakeville Yellow Ribbon, Lakeville Area
Historical Society and the City of Lakeville, we sincerely thank the Lakeville Senior
Citizens Organization for their generosity.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM LAKEVILLE
SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATION TO THE HERITAGE CENTER
WHEREAS, the Lakeville Senior Citizens Organization made a $100,000.00
donation to the City of Lakeville's Heritage Center project; and
WHEREAS, the donation is beneficial to the project; and
WHEREAS, the organization has offered to transfer full rights of ownership of the
donation to the City of Lakeville with no conditions or reservations; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real
or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing
body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville, Minnesota that the donation by this organization is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks the
Lakeville Senior Citizens Organization for their generous donation.
