HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.hProposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve Senior Citizen Deferments of assessments resulting from the 2011 Street Reconstruction, City Project 11 -02. Passage of this motion will result in deferment of the special assessments for 2012. Overview The following residents have requested that the special assessments levied against their properties for the 2011 Street Reconstruction project be deferred for taxable year 2012: In accordance with the City Resolution Authorizing Deferment of Special Assessments, an assessment can be deferred by an individual who is at least 65 years of age if the average annual payment for assessments levied against the property exceeds one percent (1 %) of the applicant's adjusted gross income. Based upon the resolution, the above residents qualify for the deferment. Senior Citizen deferments are classifications that must be reapplied for annually.
