HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.uDate: 19 December 2011 Item No. SPIRIT OF BRANDTJEN FARM 6th ADDITION FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC UTILITY AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve final acceptance of the public utility and street improvements in Spirit of Brandtjen Farm 6 Addition. Overview Tradition Development is requesting final acceptance of the public utility and street improvements in Spirit of Brandtjen Farm 6 Addition. The major contractors performing work on this project were: Utilities: Enebak Construction Company Streets: McNamara Contracting, Inc. The utilities were constructed in 2010 and the curb and gutter along with the first lift of bituminous pavement were installed in 2010. The wear course was installed in 2011. The utility improvements for the above - referenced project have been tested and inspected by WSB and Assoc. and the Public Works Department. The required one - year maintenance bonds and final lien waivers have been received from both Enebak Construction Company and McNamara Contracting, Inc. Primary Issues to Consider • Do the completed improvements meet City standards? The completed improvements comply with City standards. Supporting Information • Letter from Jacob Fick, Tradition Development dated December 2, 2011 Zach..Johnson Interi Eineer Financial Impact: None Budgeted: Related Documents (CP, ERP, etc.): Notes: Source: December_ 2, 2011 Zach Johnson City of Lakeville 20195 Holyoke Ave Lakeville, MN 55044 Re: SBF 6`'' Addition LOC and Street /Utility Acceptance Dear Mr. Johnson, SBF Development Corp currently has an active Letter of Credit with the City of Lakeville to account for the installation of public infrastructure for Spirit ofBrandtjen Farm 6 Addition and associated improvements. All of the items have now all been completed. We'd also like to request that the City formally accept the Streets, Sanitary Sewer, Watermain, and Storm Sewer utilities allowing the associated Letter of Credit to be released and the warranty period begin. It is our understanding that a maintenance bond will be required and I have attached the final pay requests and will deliver final lien waivers from our streets and utilities contractors along with the Bonds. Please review these documents and provide me with a calculation for the bond amount we'll order and deliver them right away. We'd like to request that these items as noted above be addressed prior to the end of 2011 if possible.
