FEBRUARY 6, 2012 CITY COUNCIL MEETING Proposed Action Item No. Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the donation from Joel Booth, owner of Lakeville Super America for automated car washing services for the City of Lakeville Police Department vehicles for the remainder of 2012. Passage of this motion will result in the donation of automated car washing services for the City of Lakeville Police Department vehicles for the remainder of 2012. Overview The Lakeville Police Department needs access to an automated car washing facility to efficiently and quickly wash the exterior of their vehicles. Staff delivered requests for quotes to all ten of the automated car washing facilities within the City. The City received a total of four quotes with prices ranging from no cost to $5.00 per wash. Joel Booth, the owner of the Super America at 17546 Kenrick Ave. offered to continue free washing for 2012. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM JOEL BOOTH THE OWNER OF THE LAKEVILLE SUPER AMERICA WHEREAS, Joel Booth, the owner of the Lakeville Super America at 17546 Kenrick Avenue, has offered to donate car washing services to the Lakeville Police Department for the remainder of 2012. WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 465.03 requires that all gift and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation of car washing services for the Lakeville Police Department for the remainder of 2012 is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely appreciates and thanks Joel Booth, the owner of the Lakeville Super America, for his generous donations to the City of Lakeville Police Department.
