Present: Mayor Mark Bellows Council Member Matt Little Council Member Colleen LaBeau Council Member Kerrin Swecker Council Member Laurie Rieb Also Present: Steve Mielke, City Administrator Captain John Arvidson David Olson, Community & Economic Development Director Chris Petree, Public Works Director Dennis Feller, Finance Director Steve Michaud, Parks & Recreation Director Daryl Morey, Planning Director Charlene Friedges, City Clerk Citizens' Comments Candace Retka, representing Spirit of Joy Christian Church, thanked the Lakeville Police Department for responding to a series of break -ins that the church experienced recently. Presentations /Introductions Mr. Michaud presented the December monthly report of the Parks & Recreation Department. Captain John Arvidson presented the December Police Department monthly report and the 2011 Annual Report of the Dakota County Drug Task Force. Consent Agenda 12.06 Motion was made by LaBeau, seconded by Rieb to approve the consent agenda items as follows: a. Claims for payment. b. Minutes of the January 3, 2012 City Council meeting. Audit Engagement Agreement with Malloy, Montague, Karnowski, Radosevich & Co., P.A. e. Resolution No. 12 -05 accepting donations to the Heritage Center. f. Agreements with Jenn Alexander and Adam Kuenzel for performances at the Lakeville Area Arts Center. g. Renewal of tree work licenses with Aspenwall Tree Service, Lawrence Tree & Stump Services, Inc., Oleson's Tree Service and Rainbow Tree Care. h. Resolution No. 12 -06 creating a prioritized bridge replacement list. Final acceptance of public street improvements in Jamesdale Estates 2nd Addition. Final acceptance of public utilities in MMR First Addition. k. Resolution No. 12 -07 supporting submittal of City Project 11 -10 to the Minnesota Department of Transportation for funding through the Local Road Improvement Program. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, unanimous. Unfinished business Council Member LaBeau asked the City Administrator to clarify recent media discussions about the former electrical inspector. Mr. Mielke stated the City Council eliminated the electrical inspector position and chose to provide that service on a contractual basis. The employee was laid off and chose not to apply for the contractual position.
