The Minnesota Photography Club held its monthly meeting at the LAAC on Thursday,
January 5.
The Downtown Lakeville Business Association will hold its meetings at the LAAC for
2012. The first meeting of the new year was Wednesday, January 11.
Heartbeat Dance Studio rehearsed on January 13 and performed its recital on Saturday,
January 14.
A local women’s sorority held a social in the lower level on Sunday, January 15.
On January 18 the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council held training for arts center
directors and artists from the seven-county metro area in the LAAC theater.
Noah Hoehn performed on Saturday, January 21.
UCare held an informational meeting about Medicare in the LAAC theater on Monday,
January 23.
Children’s Castle Theatre opened its two-weekend production of Peter Pan on Friday,
January 27.

Jan. 12, 19, 26 – Wood Carving Classes were introduced. Three people attended and
they all signed up for more classes in February.
Jan. 17 – Genealogy Presentation; 24 attended. It went over so well that we are
planning on offering a monthly class.
Jan. 31 – Zumba Gold Introduction; 25 ladies attended.
An oil painting class was introduced and nine people signed up.
All programs and classes have steady attendance. It is still difficult to fill buses for trips,
even when we offer them to other centers.
20 new members during this time period. Total membership is 1,124.

Children’s Castle Theatre closed its two-weekend production of Peter Pan on the
weekend of February 3-5.
Erik Peacock rented the lower level for a women’s health seminar on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Travis LeDoyt presented an Elvis tribute concert on Saturday, February 4. The event was
co-sponsored by Lakeville Rotary and the LAAC.
The DLBA’s February meeting was held at the LAAC on Wednesday, February 8.
Ballet Royale of Minnesota performed for An Evening of Art and Dance on Friday,
February 10.
Jenn Alexander held a concert on Saturday, February 11.

Saturday, February 25.
The Wizard of Oz at
Giant Step Theatre presented ten performances of its version of
Lakeville North High School February 11-20.
The gallery art exhibit this month was Holly Stone, a new instructor at the LAAC.

Feb. 1 – St. Paul Hotel High Tea & Ice Sculpture Trip. The high tea was delicious, but
the ice sculptures were water puddles!
Feb. 10 – Rolf Erdahl Music Education class. The first of five sessions was very much
enjoyed by those who attended.
Feb. 12 – Belgian Waffle Breakfast. Served 496 people and profited $2,000, which was
approximately $150 more than last year’s spring breakfast.
Feb. 24 – “Music and Musings.” The Creative Writing class hosted a tea to introduce its
newly published book, entitled “Our Pastiche for All Seasons.”
Zumba Gold classes – what a workout! Approximately 20 women are taking the class.
All of our exercise classes are going strong. The new fitness class held at Highview Hills
is much appreciated by our members. Four are presently taking this new class.
Heart Restart CPR program was held, with 15 members attending.
Tax assistance appointments are filled. We have three volunteers working on taxes.
14 new members during this time period. Total membership is 1,139.
