RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SENIOR CENTER MEMBERSHIP FEES
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve resolution
establishing Senior Center membership fees.
Overview
On February 22, 2012 the Lakeville City Council approved plans and specifications for
the proposed Heritage Center. As part of this major renovation project, City staff
completed a review of all current fees and charges, and determined that an increase in
membership fees is necessary. A membership fee survey was conducted several
months ago to determine what members would feel comfortable with, based on the
quality of services offered at the Senior Center. City staff is recommending the following
senior dues structure:
Membership fee
Resident single member
Resident couple
Non - resident
Current Proposed
$9 $18
$15 $34
$15 $30
The Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Committee recommended approval of the
resolution at their May 2, 2012 meeting.
Primary Issues to Consider
• A change in membership fees may affect Senior Center membership numbers
