MAY 21, 2012
Mayor Bellows called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The pledge of
allegiance to the flag was given.

Item 7
On behalf of the Jensen family, Mr. Michaud asked the City Council to consider
the induction of Robert "Bob" Jensen as a Lakeville Pioneer at Pioneer Plaza.
Mr. Michaud highlighted the accomplishments of Robert Jensen, who was a
Lakeville resident for 64 years and held public office at the township, village,

city, county and state levels. He was also a member of many local civic
organizations.
Mr. Jensen's daughter, Sarah Matasosky, spoke about her father's lifelong
commitment to Lakeville. She thanked the City Council for developing a
Pioneer Plaza induction tradition.
12.35 Motion by LaBeau, seconded by Swecker to approve Resolution No. 12 -54
authorizing the induction of Robert "Bob" Jensen °his a Lakeville pioneer to
be honored at Lakeville Pioneer Plaza.

Mr. Olson recommended council approval of a resolA�tion setting a public
hearing on the adoption of an ordinance creating d housing improvement area
to finance exterior improvements in'Nidkw,a 2nd Addition. He stated a
formal petition has been submitted by the Niakw.a Village li "Homeowners
Association, representing 62% of the owners. ;fie estimated "cost is not to
exceed $697,000. Improvements wouldbe"firanced by"fne Dakota County
Community Developxr -ent Agency and will be repaid by individual owners over
no more than a 15 -y ear period with interest. The Niakwa Village II Homeowners
Association is proposing to contibute $100,0300 up front to the project.

Item 9
Mr. Olson presentedJhie request of Lakeville Grill, Inc. for a liquor license
amendment to inckide an outdoor patio at Babe's Sportsbar & Grill, 20685
Holyoke Avenue. He explained that the patio would be located just north of the
east entrance to the building and will only be accessible from inside the
building. While the addition of a patio will eliminate seven parking stalls, the
property will continue to exceed the zoning ordinance requirement for parking
in the Central Business District. The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services
has determined that additional SAC units will not need to be paid. As required

by City ordinance, due to its proximity to a residential area, no food, liquor or
music is allowed on the patio after 10:00 p.m.
12.37 Motion was made by Rieb, seconded by LaBeau to approve a liquor
license amendment to Lakeville Grill, Inc. to allow an outdoor patio at
Babe's Sportsbar & Grill, located at 20685 Holyoke Avenue.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, unanimous.
