Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Approve resolution authorizing
temporary closing of city streets for Panorama of Progress events.
Overview
Each year, the Pan -O -Prog Board requests the temporary closing of certain streets in
the downtown area for Pan -O -Prog events. These events include Beer Brats & Bingo,
Cruise Night, Kiddie Parade, Car Show and the Grand Parade. The resolution also
authorizes the temporary closing of streets near Lakeville North High School for the 4 t '
July fireworks. In the event of inclement weather on July 4 the fireworks will be
postponed to July 5th.
Primary Issues to Consider
What impact will the street closures have on motorists? Signs are posted well in
advance to alert motorists of the street closures. Information will also be provided in
Messages and on the City's website.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CITY
STREETS FOR PANORAMA OF PROGRESS EVENTS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following city streets
shall be temporarily closed by the Lakeville Street and Police Departments for
certain Panorama of Progress events.

Date and time: Wednesday, 4 July 2012, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. * **
Purpose: Fireworks set -up, safety and security.
192 " d Street from Ireland Way to Ipava Avenue
Date and time: Wednesday, 4 July 2012, 6:00 PM to 11:30 PM. * **
Purpose: Fireworks safety and security.
202 Street from Ipava Avenue to Dodd Boulevard
Date and time: Wednesday, 4 July 2012, 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM. * **
Purpose: Fireworks safety and security.
Ipava Avenue from CR 50 to 201 Street

Purpose: Kiddie Parade, Car Show, Grand Parade.
Holyoke Avenue from Heritage Drive to 21467 Holyoke Avenue, Heritage
Drive from Holyoke Avenue to Iberia Avenue, 210 Street from Dodd
Boulevard to Hamburg Avenue, and Heron Way.
Date and time: Saturday, 7 July 2012, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Purpose: Grand Parade.
202 Street from Dodd Boulevard to Highview Avenue*
Date and time: Saturday, 7 July 2012, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Purpose: Grand Parade.
*Dakota County Obstruction Permit required.
* * *In the event inclement weather on 4 July 2012 causes the Fireworks event to
be postponed, road closing locations and times associated with the Fireworks
event are requested for 5 July 2012 as the backup Fireworks date.
