Presentation for Officer Rick Bussler as
LPD Journal TV Host
Proposed Action
Chief Tom Vonhof will make presentation to Officer Rick Bussler in recognition and
appreciation of his outstanding service to the City of Lakeville as the LPD Journal Host
from February 2000 through May 2012.
Overview
Officer Rick Bussler took over the duties of hosting the City of Lakeville LPD Journal
television show in February 2000. Over the next 12 years Officer Bussler, as a former
commercial TV broadcaster, brought a level of professionalism and high production
value to the City of Lakeville produced show that was on par with any commercial
broadcast news show.
Every month, the LPD Journal would report on Lakeville Police Department activities
and special events in the community. In addition, Officer Bussler produced special
"Town Forums" addressing community safety issues of significant interest such as
underage drinking and sudden cardiac arrests.
Due in large part to Officer Rick Bussler's professionalism and skills, the LPD Journal
received a national broadcast award and recognition as one of the best local police TV
productions in the country. In recognition of this remarkable achievement in
representing the City of Lakeville and the Lakeville Police Department, we would like to
formally commend and thank Officer Bussler.
