ARTS CENTER
MAY, 2012
• Roger Kubes and the Music Staff studio held a recital on Tuesday, May 1.
• Minnesota Photography Club held its monthly meeting at the LAAC on Thursday, May 3.
• LSHS Now and Then Singers held its annual Cabaret Review on May 4 and 5.
• The Jeannene Simonson Piano Studio held a recital on Sunday, May 6.
• Lorie Line performed at the LAAC on May 8 as part of her spring tour.
• The Downtown Lakeville Business Association held its May meeting at LAAC on May 9.
• Journey Montessori held its spring program on Wednesday, May 9.
• The Lakeville Senior Center held an informational meeting about the Heritage Center on
Thursday, May 10.
• LSHS Art Department held a reception for the graduating seniors' gallery exhibit on
Thursday, May 10.
• Ole and Lena 's 50 Wedding Anniversary and Vow Renewal was performed on Friday
and Saturday, May 11 and 12.
• The final coffee concert of the Highview Hills series was performed on Sunday, May 14,
featuring Adam Kuenzel, Minnesota Orchestra's principal flute.
• The Taste of Lakeville was held Thursday, May 17.
• Signs of Love was performed on Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19.
• Ballet Royale Minnesota gave a spring recital on Sunday, May 20.
• Bonnie Neuman's piano students gave a recital on Tuesday, May 22.
• The ALC held a lyceum for students on Wednesday, May 23.
• In the Company of Kids held its preschool graduation on Thursday, May 24.
• The ALC held its graduation ceremony and reception on Thursday, May 31.

• The upcoming art gallery exhibit is by a group of artists featuring original botanical art.
The exhibit will run July 5- September 16.
• The Arts Center Pan -O -Prog events include Picnic & Puppets on July 5 followed by the
annual talent show on July 7.
• Prairie Fire Children's Theater second camp for the summer is Alice In Wonderland with
performances on July 20 -21.

Maintenance of Buildings, Park Facilities & General Grounds
• Completed building inspections
• Installed flags throughout system
• Started water fountain at Park Plaza and drinking fountains within system
• Repaired fencing at Jaycee and Ritter Farm Parks and Antlers Fishing Pier
• Delivered ice resurfacer from arenas to Lonsdale for service
• Seeded around Vets Memorial site sitting rocks
• Installed bollards and signs on North Creek Trail
• Infield grading at Aronson Park
• Constructed new cistern door at Ritter ELC
• Installed second set of baskets at Kenwood Trails Disc Golf Course /moved #4 and #17 tee boxes
• Stained Antlers Shelter A
• Assisted with speaker installation at Miracle Field
• Installed 18 new recycling containers in system
• Installed Lakeville logo on Jaycee Park ID sign and new beach signs at all beaches
• Installed additional sand to beach at Valley Lake near concrete curb
Turf- related Maintenance
• Started irrigation systems; completed boulevard mowing operations; fertilized area per list; slit -
seeded pleasure rink sites /park areas per list
Athletic Fields
• Scalped /striped fields
Landscaping/Forestry/Flowers
• Planted bare root trees in nursery and two B &B Maple trees at Valley Lake Park
• Prepared soil in beds for flower planting /watered flowers at Vets Memorial
• Removed downed trees in system
Trails
• Cut out and sprayed roots on trail east side of Kensington Boulevard south of 205
• Patched trail sections at NW corner of Kenyon and 185 and both ends of Greenway Boardwalk
• Cut out Willows and patched 192 Street north of LNHS
Special Events
• Prepared for Drop -off Day, Ironman Bike Ride, Taste of Lakeville and Valley Lake /Parkview
fundraiser events
STS
• Assisted with fence tear down at LAAC from Taste of Lakeville event; weed - whipped high profile
parks; removed seed blanket netting at Aronson; leveled new fibar in playgrounds; installed
wood chips on conservation trails and weed - whipped as necessary; spread wood chips at KTDGC
at new target locations
