APPALOOSA FARM FIRST PRELIMINARY PLAT EXTENSION
AUGUST 20, 2012 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a one -year
extension for the Appaloosa Farm First preliminary plat.
Adoption of this motion will allow the property owner an additional year to submit a final
plat for this development.
Overview
Wayne Jagow, owner of the property and the developer of Appaloosa Farm First, is
requesting another one -year extension for the preliminary plat, which consists of four single
family residential lots and one outlot on 2.59 acres of land located west of Iteri Avenue and
north of Iteri Court East. The City Council approved the preliminary plat of Appaloosa Farm
First on February 19, 2008. The developer previously submitted a final plat application and
plans within the required 100 days following the approval of the preliminary plat but withdrew
the application and instead requested that the City Council approve a one year extension to
the preliminary plat. The City Council approved one year extensions to the preliminary plat
on August 18, 2008, August 3, 2009, August 2, 2010 and August 15, 2011.
Planning Department staff recommends that the City Council approve an extension to the
preliminary plat for one year until August 19, 2013.
Primary Issues to Consider
What will happen to the Appaloosa Farm First preliminary plat approval if the extension is not
granted?
The City Council approval of the preliminary plat would become null and void. Any future
development would be required to start over with a new preliminary plat application.

Subject: RE: Appaloosa Farm First Addition
Mr. Dempsey,
I would like to get another year extension on that Appaloosa Farm First Addition preliminary plat, if at all possible. I am
hopeful that financial conditions will improve enough to make this project feasible.
Thanks.
Thanks,
