The Spotlight on Business program is designed to recognize new and existing commercial
and industrial businesses in the Lakeville community. The program is also designed to
emphasize, for residents, the important tax and employment benefits that business and
industry provide to the community.
JD Woodcraft will be featured at the September 17` City Council meeting. Economic
Development Commissioner, Jeannie Schubert will present the information on JD Woodcraft,
and owner Jason Davenport will be present to accept this recognition.
JD Woodcraft is a custom shop for builders and designers seeking upscale residential or
commercial cabinetry, and architectural millwork. From initial bidding and design to finish
work and installation, the process is all completed in- house. They even grind up wood scrap
in -house for recycling into the farming industry.
JD Woodcraft caters to high -end residential clients along with commercial clients. Scope of
work ranges from hotels, banks, dental and vet clinics, along with many builder's, designer's,
and architect's custom projects.
Started in 2005 with just a single employee, JD Woodcraft now has 25 employees. They have
experienced continued expansion and have seen growth rates of 30 % -50% per year, to this
point.
Located in the Airlake Industrial Park on Heron Way, they purchased a 30,000 square foot
facility and relocated to Lakeville last year.
