Passage of this motion will result in appointment of election judges in conformance with State Statute. Overview Many well qualified and eligible citizens have registered to serve as election judges in the upcoming Primary and General Elections. The establishment of election judge guidelines will help insure that election judge responsibilities are performed according to law and the elections are conducted in the best possible manner. In compliance with State Statute election judges must complete election judge training of at least two hours every two years to be certified as an election judge. Staff recommends the attached list of election judges be trained, certified, and appointed to carry out election judge duties at the November 6, 2012 General Election. Primary Issues to Consider Can these regular and head judges be trained and certified? Three election judge training sessions have been scheduled at the City of Lakeville. If proposed judges are not able to attend one of those sessions, there is an opportunity for them to be trained at a session offered by Dakota County. Are State Statutes being observed? All precinct assignments comply with State Statutes in scheduling of election judges. Supporting Information A list of proposed election judges is attached. w'.._.. f / .. mil• . I'..
