HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-136CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 12 -136 RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT OF WEED /GRASS REMOVAL AND PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE VIOLATIONS WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the City Council has met, heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed special assessment of weed /grass removal and property maintenance code violations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakeville, Minnesota: 1. Such proposed Assessment No. 1290 in the amount of $10,962.18 is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the land named therein, and each tract of land therein included is hereby found to be benefited by the proposed improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it. The Special Assessment was calculated as follows: Contract Grass /Weed Cutting $ 8,457.42 Legal Notice Publication 45.15 Special Assessment Administrative Fee 735.00 Dakota County Special Assessment Fee 80.43 Interest 1,770.29 Total Proposed Special Assessment $10,962.18 2. Such assessments shall be considered payable and collected with the taxes payable in 2013 and shall bear interest at the rate of 18% per annum from the date of the adoption of this assessment resolution to December 31, 2013. 3. The owner of the property so assessed may, at any time prior to certification of the assessment to the county auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the City Treasurer, except that no interest shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid within 30 days from the adoption of this resolution. The owner may, at any time following certification, pay to the City Treasurer the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to December 31 of the year in which such payment is made. 4. The City Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified duplicate of this assessment to the County Auditor to be extended on the property tax lists of the County, and such assessments shall be collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal taxes.
