HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.cIF 10% January 9, 2013 Item No. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM LAKEVILLE ROTARY CLUB Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve resolution accepting donation from Lakeville Rotary Club. Overview A $1,000 donation, as well as volunteer work to install 200 Little Bluestem plants, was received by the Environmental Resources /Engineering Department and the Parks and Recreation Department from the Lakeville Rotary Club. The donation was used for a portion of the plant costs associated with the new rain garden in the parking lot at Steve Michaud Park (formerly North Park). On behalf of the Environmental Resources /Engineering Department, the Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Lakeville, we sincerely thank the Lakeville Rotary Club for their generosity as well as the individuals who volunteered their time. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM LAKEVILLE ROTARY CLUB WHEREAS, the Lakeville Rotary Club made a $1,000 donation, in addition to volunteer work, to the City of Lakeville's Environmental Resources /Engineering Department and the Parks & Recreation Department; and WHEREAS, the donation benefitted Steve Michaud Park; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota, that the donation by the Lakeville Rotary Club is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks the Lakeville Rotary Club and the individuals who volunteered their time for their generous donation.
