TEMPORARY ON -SALE LIQUOR LICENSE FOR LAKEVILLE
ROTARY CLUB — TASTE OF LAKEVILLE
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the issuance of a
temporary on -sale liquor license to the Lakeville Rotary Club
Passage of this motion will result in the ability of Lakeville Rotary Club to serve alcoholic
beverages at the Taste of Lakeville event on Thursday, May 16, 2013.
Overview
The Lakeville Rotary Club submitted an application for a temporary on -sale liquor license and
an application for an outdoor entertainment permit for the 11t annual Taste of Lakeville
event. The event will take place at the Lakeville Area Arts Center and will include two live
bands and approximately 30 food vendors. The entire area will be enclosed by a steel fence,
with only one access point. The event will be restricted to only those persons of legal
drinking age. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed into the event. An outdoor
entertainment permit will be issued by the Police Department, pending approval of the
temporary liquor license by the Lakeville City Council and State of Minnesota Alcohol &
Gambling Enforcement Division.

• Has the Lakeville Rotary provided evidence of liability insurance?
• Will adequate security be provided?

Analysis of Primary Issues
The Lakeville Rotary is a 501(c)(3) non - profit organization and provides financial
support to the Lakeville area community through scholarships and community
projects.
➢ The Lakeville Rotary has provided a certificate of liability insurance naming the
City of Lakeville as additional insured.
Lakeville Rotary will work with the Police Department to provide adequate police
services at Rotary's expense. Perimeter security will be provided by Rotarians.
