Subject: Envision Lakeville Update.
The following is an update regarding the April and May Envision Lakeville task force meetings:
April 24th Task Force Meeting:
The raw data obtained from the staff /advisory board survey, community survey, focus groups
and town hall forums were reviewed by the task force. The task force began to discuss
common patterns and themes that were beginning to appear throughout the data. It was
also observed, the majority of the people that participated in the business focus group were
from retail and commercial businesses. The task force requested staff to work with Craig
Rapp, the consultant assisting the City with the development of the Envision Lakeville Plan, to
organize an additional focus group consisting of office and industrial business owners. An
office/industrial focus group, representing approximately seventeen businesses, is currently
in the process of being organized.
May 9t Task Force Meeting:
With the survey work and data collection complete, the task force used the collected data in
developing a SWOT (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis. The SWOT
analysis has assisted in the identification of current and future strategic challenges and the
development of initial strategic priorities including community values, character and guiding
principles.
