City staff was directed to complete a market study for non -union positions within the city.
The basis of this study is to ensure that we continue to attract and retain talent by offering
competitive wages and benefits.
To complete the study, staff compared benchmark positions and benefits with survey data
from both public and private sector sources. Department Directors reviewed job
descriptions with employees for accuracy and brought forward any changes to the Human
Resources Manager and City Administrator. The Personnel Committee has reviewed the
information and is recommending approval.
Primary Issues to Consider
What sources were used for comparison?
What changes are being recommended and how will they be financed?
