HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.jr June 25, 2013 N q==F Fe Item No. Resolution accepting donation of veterinary services from Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital for Lakeville Police K -9 Dogs Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept donation of veterinar services provided to Lakeville Police Department K -9 dogs by the Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital. Overview Since 2003, the Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital has provided veterinary services to the Lakeville Police Department's K -9 dogs at no cost to the City of Lakeville. The K -9s cared for by Cleary Lake veterinarians include Blue, Shadow, Zeus and Tank. These veterinary services include annual checkups, vaccinations and preventative medications. Along with these services, Cleary Lake has cared for our K -9s when they have been sick or injured. These veterinary services provided to our K -9s ensure that they remain healthy and effective as an important and valuable asset to our Police Department in helping to make Lakeville a safer community. This resolution will acknowledge the donation of these veterinary services of an approximate fair market value of $1018.82 to the City of Lakeville. Thomas E. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION WHEREAS, Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital provided medical care for the year 2012 to our two K -9 dogs; and WHEREAS, the medical care has an approximate fair market value of $1018.82; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personas property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation of medical care by Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital for the generous donation.
