Home My WebLink AboutItem 06.oOctober 2, 2013 Item No. Resolution Authorizing the Sale of Assets Proposed Action Staff recommends approval of the following motion: Move to approve Resolution authorizing the sale of assets. Passage of this resolution would allow the sale of assets. Overview City staff is recommending the sale of city assets which have exceeded their useful life. In addition, the sale includes an assortment of items (premiums) received for liquor purchases. The assets will be sold using an on -line auction services. In addition to City assets, there will be a number of items which were donated by the public to be sold and contributed to Heritage Center as part of the community fundraising initiatives. The Police Department has also included in the auction, items which were confiscated as a result of criminal investigations. Related Documents (CIP, ERP, etc.): Notes: Staff Analysis of Primary Issues Resolution authorizing the sale of assets • When and how does the auction take place? a) Auction Masters will take pictures and catalog all items. They will then be posted on their website at www.auctionmasters.com. The items will be listed for approximately one week with public inspection to be conducted on Monday, October 21. The final bidding date of Tuesday, October 22nd. All items will then be paid for and picked up on Wednesday, October 23rd. • How are the anticipated profits from these items to be used? All proceeds raised from city assets will be placed into the general fund. Dealer loaders provided by the Liquor Department, as well as donated items from the public will go towards the Heritage Center Construction. CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO.
