CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MINUTES
September 3, 2013
Mayor Little called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. in the Marion Conference Room at City
Hall.

16 - 25 fears. Council members emphasized the importance of cultivating a sense of
community by working with and strongly supporting the social institutions such as
neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, recreation, athletics, and community
celebrations and events.

Envision Lakeville 2040 — Rapp emphasized that a community vision plan is a framework for
long -term success. Achieving the promise of the vision requires focus and follow- through.
"Focus on the future, use the framework, filter decisions, and make it real."
Mr. Mielke stated the task force will present the Community Vision Plan to the public at the
September 16 City Council meeting. The City Council should, at some point, adopt the
Vision Statement. Mr. Mielke recommended the City Council charge dep�'ftment directors
and advisory committees to take action by reaching out and soliciting, g feedback from some
oI the civic groups, school boards and religious organizations that palpated in the
community vision process.
