RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept the donation of 20
tourniquets with a total value of $600 to Lakeville Police Rqp rtment.
Passage of this motion will result in officers having an additional piece of equipment to assist in
tine respoIise of a wedicai emergency.,
Overview
Hosanna! Church held a pancake breakfast to raise funds for the purchase of tourniquets.
A tourniquet is a specially made piece of fabric designed to apply on a limb to prevent large
amounts of blood loss.
This has proven effective in the military use to help save lives.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS, Hosanna! Church conducted a pancake breakfast to donate twenty
tourniquets valued at $600 to the Lakeville Police Department to be used for first responder
medical emergency incidents; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or
personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville
that the donation of tourniquets from Hosanna! Church is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOVLED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Hosanna!
Church for the generous donation.
