Members Present: Lori Bovitz, Tom Goodwin, Judy Hayes, Scott Kelly, Howard Lovelace, Jeanne Peterson, Bob Swan Members Absent: None Staff Present: Parks & Recreation Director Brett Altergott, Environmental Resources Manager Mac Cafferty, Recording Secretary Tamara Wallace 2. Approval of April 9, 2014 minutes Minutes were approved as presented. 3. Citizen comments There were no citizens present. 4. Staff report Saturday, April 26: Central Maintenance Facility Watershed Cleanup Day: 9-12 p.m. Tree pick-up: 9-10:30 a.m. Environmental department’s educational piece: 12-1 p.m. Saturday, April 26: Ames Arena Free Family Fun Fest: 5-7 p.m. Movie showing of “Monsters University”: 7 p.m. Sunday, April 27: Heritage Center Waffle Breakfast Fundraiser: 8-12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3: Central Maintenance Facility Hazardous Waste Day: 9-11:30 a.m. Construction has started on the Kenrick Avenue trail. The majority of the boardwalk is complete; still anticipating a completion date ahead of the Memorial Day holiday. Xcel Energy has been issued a permit by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife to work near a family of nesting eagles. 5. Silvarum preliminary plat Staff reviewed the Silvarum preliminary plat, and discussed storm water and drainage management, trail locations, and tree preservation. Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Committee Meeting Minutes, April 23, 2014 Page 2 Motion made by Jeanne Peterson, seconded by Bob Swan to recommend to City Council approval of the Silvarum preliminary plat, subject to the recommendations as presented by City staff. Ayes: unanimous 6. Diamonte preliminary plat Staff reviewed the Diamonte preliminary plat, and discussed storm water management and trail locations. Motion made by Tom Goodwin, seconded by Howard Lovelace to recommend to City Council approval of the Diamonte preliminary plat, subject to the recommendations as presented by City staff. Ayes: unanimous 7. Other Business Re-evaluating the Hunting Map zones due to nearby development Upcoming City Council work session items  Goose management at Antlers Park  North Creek Greenway project  King Park playground  King Park lighting project 8.
