AUTHORIZING SALE OF THE 2006 NEW HOLLAND TV -145 BI- DIRECTIONAL
TRACTOR, MOWERS, AND SNOW BLOWER TO THE CITY OF ELKO NEW MARKET
FOR $50,000
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve authorizing the sale of
2006 New Holland TV -145 bi- directional tractor, mowers, and snow blower to the City of Elko
New Market for $50,000.
Approval of the motion will result in sale of 2006 New Holland TV -145 bi- directional tractor, a
rear and side flail mowers, and a snow blower to the City of Elko New Market for $50,000.
Overview
The 2014 budget identified and provided for the replacement of Street Department
unit 2267, a 2006 New Holland TV -145 bi- directional tractor with rear and side flail mowers
and a snow blower. Purchase orders have been issued to Sharber and Sons for the
replacement tractor and to Diamond Mowers for the replacement mowers. The snow blower
has been superseded by other Streets Division and Parks Maintenance equipment purchases
and will not be replaced.
The City of Elko - New Market has offered to buy the tractor for $50,000. The proposed
motion will authorize the sale of the tractor to Elko -New Market.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Sales options. Sharber and Sons offered $42,000 for trade -in of the 2006 tractor, rear and
side flail mowers, and snow blower. If sold at auction the City can anticipate sales
proceeds, net of commissions, of approximately $50,000. The Elko -New Market proposal
is therefore a fair value with minimal risk.
