Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to grant an off -sale 3.2% malt liquor
license to Lakeville 2014 LLC d/b/a Cub Foods, 17756 Kenwood Trail
Overview
In accordance with Title 3-1-6-2 of the Lakeville City Code, the City Council will conduct a
public hearing on the application of Lakeville 2014 LLC for an off -sale 3.2% malt liquor license.
Lakeville 2014 LLC has acquired the Rainbow Foods store at 17756 Kenwood Trail.
The Police Department reviewed the application of Lakeville 2014 LLC. The store will be
operated by SuperValu doing business as Cub Foods. This business has been in operation in the
City of Lakeville for a long period of time, and no changes in business practices are anticipated.
A tentative opening date of Monday, July 7th, is anticipated. A representative of Lakeville 2014
LLC will be present at the Council meeting.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Does the applicant meet the requirements for an off -sale 3.2% malt liquor license?
The applicant meets all State and City requirements for the license requested.

personal information and character references.
On June 3, 2014, I was assigned to the liquor license background check for Lakeville
2014 LLC, d/b/a Cub Foods. The following automated databases were checked to
conduct this background; DVS, MNCIS, in-house records, criminal history files. As this
business has been in operation in the City of Lakeville for a long period of time and no
changes in business practices are anticipated, interviews were not conducted as a part of
this process.

change in licensee, this background is required by ordinance.
