HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.eJune 6, 2014 Item No. Resolution accepting donation of veterinary services from Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital for Lakeville Police K-9 Dogs Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept donation of veterinary services provided to Lakeville Police Department K-9 dogs by the Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital. Overview Since 2003, the Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital has provided veterinary services to the Lakeville Police Department's K-9 dogs at no cost to the City of Lakeville. These veterinary services include annual checkups, vaccinations and preventative medications. Along with these services, Cleary Lake has cared for our K -9s when they have been sick or injured. This resolution will acknowledge the donation of these veterinary services of an approximate fair market value of $1018.82 to the City of Lakeville. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION WHEREAS, Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital has offered to donate to the Lakeville Police Department medical care for the year of 2013 to our two K-9 dogs; WHEREAS, the medical care has an approximate fair market value $1018.00; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation of veterinary medical care from Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOVLED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital for the generous donation.
