HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.m/ I November 17, 2014 Item No. Ordinance Amending Title 1, Chapter 6, of the Lakeville City Code Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to amend Title 1, Chapter 6, of the Lakeville City Code concerning the City Administrator. Passage of this motion will result in updated duties and responsibilities for the City Administrator. Overview Title 1, Chapter 6, of the Lakeville City Code defines the duties and responsibilities for the City Administrator. With the recruitment of a new City Administrator, the City Council requested that staff review the current ordinance and make appropriate changes. Attached is a redlined version of the proposed changes to the ordinance which will better reflect the current policies and practices of the City. Personnel Committee has reviewed and approved the proposed changes. Primary Issues to Consider • None. The incumbent may be removed from office after thirty (30) calendar days' written notice only by a majority of the City Council with or without cause. If the incumbent has served as City Administrator for one year, a public hearing before the City Council shall be provided, if requested by the Cit Administrator prior to the date the removal takes place.
