MEETING MINUTES
November 19, 2014
Co-chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City
Hall.
Members Present: Lori Bovitz, Judy Hayes, Scott Kelly (arrived at 6:01 p.m.), Howard
Lovelace, Jeanne Peterson
Members Absent: Tom Goodwin and Bob Swan
Staff Present: Parks & Recreation Director Brett Altergott, Environmental Resources
Manager Mac Cafferty, Recording Secretary Tamara Wallace
2. Approval of November 5 minutes
Minutes were approved as presented.
3. Citizen comments
There were no citizen comments.
4. Staff report
There were no staff report items.
5. Kenwood Hills Preliminary Plat
Staff reviewed the Kenwood Hills preliminary plat and discussed tree preservation,
wetland impacts, and storm water treatment.
Prior to the meeting, Tom Goodwin emailed Mac Cafferty about the plat, and
wanted to ensure the slopes were protected and stabilized leading to the wetlands.
Motion made by Judy Hayes, seconded by Lori Bovitz to recommend to City
Council approval of the Kenwood Hills preliminary plat, subject to the
recommendations as presented by City staff.
Ayes: unanimous
6. Argonne Senior Housing Preliminary Plat
Staff reviewed the Argonne Senior Housing preliminary plat and discussed tree
preservation, wetland impact, and storm water treatment.
Motion made by Howard Lovelace, seconded by Judy Hayes to recommend to
City Council approval of the Argonne Senior Housing preliminary plat, subject to the
recommendations as presented by City staff.
Ayes: unanimous
7. Other Business
Committee members recapped the joint City Council meeting regarding the Parks,
Trails, and Open Space plan held on Wednesday, November 12, and discussed

necessary revisions to the Parks Plan, meetings to discuss new park amenities,
and how neighborhood demographics would affect future plans for park
sustainability.
7. Announcements
The department is currently accepting forms for Santa letters and Santa phone calls
due December 1. Letters will be mailed the week of December 15 and are $5, and
phone calls will be placed the evenings of December 9 & 11, and are free.
