HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 07City of Lakeville Planning Department Memorandum To : Planning Commission From: Frank Dempsey, AICP, Associate Planner Date: December 31, 2014 Subject: Packet Material for the January 8, 2015 Planning Commission Meeting Agenda Item: Vacation of 217th Street Road Right-of-Way INTRODUCTION Setzer Properties has submitted an application for the vacation of two small portions of 217th Street right-of-way to accommodate the connection of Humboldt Road to 217th Street as planned with the preliminary plat of FedEx Lakeville. The City Council approved the FedEx Lakeville preliminary plat their October 6, 2014 meeting. EXHIBITS A. Aerial Photo B. Certificates of Survey with Vacation Sketches (2 Pages) C. FedEx Lakeville preliminary plat VACATION The request for right-of-way vacation is being made is conjunction with the dedication of Humboldt Avenue right-of-way with the FedEx Lakeville final plat. The City Council will consider the final plat in the next few weeks. The right-of-way vacation will be subject to City Council approval of the FedEx Lakeville final plat. All utility companies with a potential interest in the right-of-way vacation have been notified and all have responded with no concerns. There are no identified City utilities within the easement to be vacated. RECOMMENDATION Planning Department staff recommends approval of the road right-of-way vacation subject to the following stipulations: 1.
