HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.eApril 27, 2015 Item No.____ RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR CHARITABLE GAMBLING Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution granting approval to the Lakeville Hockey Association to conduct lawful gambling at Heavy Metal Grill Passage of this motion allows the Lakeville Hockey Association to conduct lawful gambling at Heavy Metal Grill, 20851 Holyoke Avenue. Overview The Lakeville Hockey Association has applied to the State of Minnesota Gambling Control Board to conduct gambling activities at Heavy Metal Grill. Activities will include pull-tabs, bar bingo and tipboards. The application requires a resolution of approval by the City Council. Primary Issues to Consider • Does this organization meet the qualifications for a Lawful Gambling Premises Permit? • The Lakeville Hockey Association is a qualified organization and meets all City and State requirements for lawful gambling Supporting Information • Application is on file in the City Clerk’s office. ___________________________________ Charlene Friedges, City Clerk Financial Impact: $___N/A______Budgeted: Y/N ____ Source: __________________ Related Documents (CIP, ERP, etc.): _______________________________________ Community Values: A Sense of Community and Belonging CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 15-50 RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR CHARITABLE GAMBLING WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville received an application from the Lakeville Hockey Association for a permit to conduct lawful gambling at Heavy Metal Grill, located at 20851Holyoke Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Lakeville Hockey Association is a qualified organization and currently conducts lawful gambling at Babe’s, Harry’s, Ole Piper and Goodfella’s restaurants in Lakeville. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lakeville grants approval to the Lakeville Hockey Association to conduct lawful gambling at Heavy Metal Grill, 20851 Holyoke Avenue.
