However, the current condition of that segment of trail was such that a significant investment would need to be made to patch that trail in 2015 to make it traversable until such time as the trail was rehabilitated in 2016. Staff bid rehabilitation of the aforementioned trail segment as a bid alternate with the 2015 Miscellaneous Roadway Repair Project, and the financial impact of awarding that bid alternate, in addition to the two trail segments already budgeted for rehabilitation in 2015, is included in the summary above. Staff will be able to manage this overage in the Trail Improvement Fund by not using dollars otherwise allocated to trail patching for this segment of trail along 165th Street. The actual cost to reconstruct the City Hall, Fire Station #1, Fire Station #2 and rear Heritage Center parking lots exceeded the amount budgeted within the City’s Building Fund. Staff is recommending the Council consider a future budget amendment to amend the Building Fund. Kenrick Pond letter of credit (LOC) dollars will be used to complete the construction of Jazz Court, a cul-de-sac adjacent to Kenrick Avenue south of the intersection with 165th Street. The public improvements were never completed within this cul-de-sac following the plat approval process. The original LOC provided with the development will fund the majority of the work, and Staff recommends Pavement Management Funds provide the remaining financing to complete the improvements. CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO._________ RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR 2015 MISCELLANEOUS ROADWAY REPAIRS AND OVERLAYS City Improvement Project 15-01 WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville received sealed bids on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. for the 2015 Miscellaneous Roadway Repairs and Overlays, City Project 15-01; and WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid was from McNamara Contracting, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota: Hereby awards the contract to the lowest responsible bidder that meets all the bid requirements, McNamara Contracting, Inc., with a Base Bid plus Bid Alternate No. 1 bid in the amount of $1,075,732.78. The construction is proposed to be completed as specified in the contract documents. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of May, 2015.
