2015 Street Reconstruction.
Phase 1 of the project
continues. New concrete curb
and gutter has been
completed in many areas and
the first layer of asphalt has
been put down. Both
contractors are progressing
well though they have
suffered setbacks
from the
weather.
50/60 Roundabout.
The roundabout is starting
to take shape. The focus
has been on relocation of
private utilities and
installation of storm sewer.
Work on the project has
slowed as the relocation of
private utilities continues
to pose problems.
Removal of
underground conduit
related to the private
utilities has affected
the pace of work. In
spite of that, the
project is still
scheduled to be
complete by the end
of August.

Holyoke Avenue Water Tower.
The Holyoke Water Tower is in the
early stages of its construction. Site
excavation and preparation for the
foundation is complete and crews are
placing and securing rebar for the
concrete that will be used in the
foundation. Once the foundation is
poured and cured, walls of the
supporting column will begin to take
shape. Later this year, crews will
begin to work on building the bowl.
This is a long term project with work
on the pedestal and bowl continuing
throughout the summer and into next year. The tower is expected to be online in
the fall of 2016.
Well 20 Construction.
Construction began on Well
20 during the last week of
June. The well is located in
Cherry View Park, adjacent to
the parking lot. The
construction of the well is
based on recommendations
in the 2013 Comprehensive
Water Supply Plan. Lakeville’s
growth has driven peak water
demand at or near the City’s
existing capacity to supply
water. Based on peak demand
projections and per capita use, a
new well was needed to ensure
that additional capacity was
available to meet customer
demands and emergency needs.
Drilling of the well will be
relatively quick and the drilling
equipment should be removed
from the park area by the end of
summer. Finalizing pumps,
motors, and controls will continue into the fall with the well expected to be online
by the end of the year and fully available in the summer of 2016.

Collector Road Rehabilitation.
Hamburg Avenue Improvement Project. Staff continues to work with the
Watershed District and Dakota County Soil and Water to finalize joint powers
agreements for the installation of water quality improvements, separate from
the roadwork, which will improve drainage within the ditches adjacent to
Hamburg Avenue. Contracts for the road work are being coordinated.
Kensington Boulevard Improvement Project. A preconstruction meeting has
been set for Tuesday, July 7. Construction on the project is anticipated to start
shortly thereafter.
