HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-30-65LAKEVILLE TOWNSHIP INNING COMMISSION The regular monthly meeting of the La#oville Township Planning Board was held at the Township Hall, September 30th, 1965 at 8:00 P.M. The following members were present: Mr. S. 8olstad Mr. A. Patenaude Mr. J. Gralow Mr. R. Stegmaier Mr. G. Lydon Mr. R. Simons Mr. W. Barrett The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved by the Board. Mr. Phil Stewart presented a sketch 8fr the proposed auto race track which he seeks to build on 40 acres on the SW corner of Lakeville Township West of 35W. After considerable discussion from the floor it was moved by Mr. Barrett and seconded by Mr. Patenaude to recommend rezoning said property from agriculture to commercial - industrial. In favor: Patensude, Barrett, Stegmaier; against: Simones, Gralow, Lydon. A second motion was made by Gralow and seconded by Lyden to refer above motion to Midwest Planning and Research, Inc. and additional study to be made by the Plan- ning Board. In favor: Simons, Lyden, Gralow; against: Patenaude, Barrett. Motion carried. A request by Mr. George Papers to construct a new garage on his property was recommended to be granted by the board. An ordinance regulating the parking and storing of junk cars within the Township of Lakeville and regulating automobile graveyards was discussed. It was recommended by the Board to accept the ordinance recommended by our legal council with the follow- ing changes: Sec. 1, Par. 1.1 - Junk car means any motor vehicle which for a period of 45 days or more is not in operable condition or is partially dismantled, or which is used for sale of parts or as a source of repair or replacement parts for other vehicles, or which for a period of 30 days or more is not properly licensed for operation within the State of Minnesota except any vehicle that is used in seasonal service and where a license is acquired only for that particular season of the year. Sec. 2, Par. 2.1 - No person, firm or corporation shall erect or establish or maintain an automobile graveyard within the limits of the Town of Lakeville, Dakota County, Minnesota, without a public hearing and 75% of all adjacent property owners' consent before a permit for such an establishment can be granted from the Town Board or its authorized representative. Sec. 5, Par. 5.1 - The applicant shall pay to the Town of Lakeville an appli- cation fee of Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) at the time the application is filed, and Seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for a permit fee when application is approved. A bond shall be postdd in the amount of ($ ) to cover the cost to the Town of Lake- ville in the event of discontinuation of the operation. Sec. 6, Par. 6.1 (d) - (end of Par.)
