From: Midwest Planning ansa Research, Inc.
Subject: Pa osed Second Fera- Joint Plann raj Progrem
As a result of a joint meeting of the Lakeville Toa,wml hip mid Vil"age officials cr)
February 13 at the Town hall, Midw=.,t Planning and Research was asked to prepare a
proposal for services to be performed during flee second year of the planning F-,-Ogram.
The detailed proposal attached herer,5 is a summary of the requited work. Se --tion I
of the proposal covers base mapping,, land use sup -.,eyes, and tax .:and utility rinealysis of
the Village. This additional 'snforsriciion will be necessary if th,; planning program is to
proceed as a joint undertaking. Sec-1on If deals wit'n the Comprehensive Davelopment
Plan which will include the issue of .verger and annexation. It is our belief that these
important issues should be thoroughly analyseti and considered b°l Village and Township
officials and that facts and data must be presented to the public before s2 finai decision
is made. Section III will pravade zoAng sand planning c drninistrative procedure s necessary
for the continual updating and revisi-an of pians and ordinances.
We propose, for tl;e purposes of ecosnwriy, that joint meetings of the Township and Village
Planning Commissions be held monthly to review tho work as it it completed. We believe
that this would also be beneficial in that it would develop a sound working relationship
between the Village and the Township an mutual planning problems.
The total cost or the second year pro;lram is Estimated at $10,500. Of this total, the
Federal government will pay $7,004 grad the to -al Acaa1 share will be $3,,500. No attempt
has been -made to allocate the local ,;hcmt t%leen t,ie V -i rare and the Tow chip, as we
believe this to be a local determinat"on.
