The meeti rg of the Executive Board was called to order at 8:00 P.M., Chair-
man Bartholet presiding.
In attendance were Sunde, Rother, Lehmann and Terry, County Commissioners
Wachtler, Scully and Freiling.
Discussion was held concerning informative newspaper coverage as to whither
it should be on a news release, or column basis. It was agreed that temporarily
a news release basis would be attempted and later reviewed as reports were publi-
cized in the newspapers. The Chairman of the Planning Commission agreed to be
responsible for the releasing of the news items and the understanding with the
County Board is to the effect that a copy of the release would be prepared
approximately one week in advance, with a copy of the release to be sent to the
Chairman of the Board of Commissioners so that the Board would have an oppor-
tunity to comment on the news release prior to its distribution.
Discussion of effects of current County Board action in appointing the
Planning Advisory Board and members thereon and resolution of the County Board
encompassing adoption of the whole complete planning law.
Motion by Lehman, Znd by Sunde that the Executive Board meetings and
quarterly meetings be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month during the coming
year. Motion passed.
Motion by Rother, 2nd by Terry that the Executive Board meetings be held in
the Planning Commiss on office. Motion passed.
Motion by Rother, 2nd by Lehman that the clerk order supplies needed. Mo-
tion passed.
The time of the January 21st meeting of the County Board and Executive
Board was set at 7:15 P.M. for organization of Committees and instructions from
the County Board and Executive Board as to their duties and functions.
Discussion of County needs such as Health, Comprehensive, Parks, Sewage
and Public Service.;
The Chairman asked that the County Board consider and act on the proposals
for professional planning assistance to the County. A discussion followed con-
cerning the Planning Commission stand on a Staff Planner and the alternative
proposal for outside consultant planning.
The County Board advised the Planning Commission that Mr. Edman would have
his written report ready for distribution on January 20, 1965 and a copy would
be available to the Planning Commission which has been waiting for this report.
Motion to adjourn was passed at 9:45 P.M.
