They are scheduled to complete three pours a week, weather permitting, until the shaft is completed in early November. In total, they will pour 12 ring walls and 16 dome panels. Fabrication of the tank will begin once the shaft is complete and carry on through the winter. The tower is expected to be online in the fall of 2016. Well 20 Construction. Drilling of the well is complete and crews are working on developing the well and removing any sand that sloughed into the hole during development. The pipe from the well to the well collection pipe running along Dodd Boulevard was pulled into place by horizontal directional boring. This resulted in minimal disruption to the park and required only two excavations, one at the well and one at the well collection pipe for the connection. 3 Finalizing pumps, motors, and controls will continue into the fall with the well expected to be online by the end of the year and fully available in the summer of 2016. Kensington Boulevard Improvement Project. Lane shifts continue along Kensington Boulevard. Paving of the northbound lanes is complete. Work on the south bound lanes will resume after Labor Day. Kensington Boulevard will remain open to traffic throughout the project. Miscellaneous Roadway Repairs. Reclamation of the parking lots at City Hall, Fire Station 1, and the Heritage Center began on August 24. Base course paving at Fire Station 1 and the Heritage Center was completed on August 31. Storm sewer work and curb and gutter replacement will precede paving of the south and west parking lots at City Hall with the expectation that paving will be completed by September 10. Work on the east and north parking areas will begin on Friday, September 11. Reclamation of the Fire Station 2 parking lot is also underway. 4 ensure a proper crown in the roadway to promote drainage and stability. To low of a crown and water will not drain and there is an increased potential for potholes and other surface failures. Similarly, redistributing the aggregate improves surface stability and reduces the opportunity for gravel to migrate to the sides of the road and inhibit drainage. The Streets Division regularly evaluates the City’s gravel roads and acts to make the necessary improvements.
