50/60 Roundabout.
The roundabout opened on Friday,

Holyoke Avenue Water Tower.
The contractor’s shaft crew has
been onsite since mid-August and
has completed four concrete pours
on the shaft. They are scheduled to
complete three pours a week,
weather permitting, until the shaft
is completed in early November. In
total, they will pour 12 ring walls
and 16 dome panels. Fabrication of
the tank will begin once the shaft is
complete and carry on through the
winter. The tower is expected to be
online in the fall of 2016.
Well 20 Construction.
Drilling of the well is complete and
crews are working on developing
the well and removing any sand
that sloughed into the hole during
development. The pipe from the
well to the well collection pipe
running along Dodd Boulevard was
pulled into place by horizontal
directional boring. This resulted in
minimal disruption to the park and
required only two excavations, one
at the well and one at the well
collection pipe for the connection.

ensure a proper crown in the roadway to promote drainage and stability. To low of
a crown and water will not drain and there is an increased potential for potholes and
other surface failures. Similarly, redistributing the aggregate improves surface
stability and reduces the opportunity for gravel to migrate to the sides of the road
and inhibit drainage. The Streets Division regularly evaluates the City’s gravel roads
and acts to make the necessary improvements.
