HomeMy WebLinkAbout15-163CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 15-163 RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ELECTRIC FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH DAKOTA ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION AND THE ELECTRIC FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY, D/B/A XCEL ENERGY WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville, acting by the City Council, has adopted two ordinances granting an electric franchise to: (i) Northern States Power Company, d/b/a Xcel Energy, and (ii) Dakota Electric Association, authorizing the construction, operation, repair and maintenance of an electronic distribution systems and transmission lines in the City; WHEREAS, as authorized by Minnesota Statutes, Section 412.191, subd. 4, the City Council has determined that publication of the title and summary of the ordinances will clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinances; and WHEREAS, a printed copy of each ordinance and a copy of the entire text of each ordinance is available for inspection during regular office hours at the office of the city administrator. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE that the following summaries of the ordinances are approved for summary publication: CITY OF LAKEVILLE ELECTRIC FRANCHISE ORDINANCE ORDINANCE NO. 949 The ordinance grants Northern State Power, d/b/a Xcel Energy ("Company"), for a period of 20 years from the date passed and approved by the City, the non-exclusive right to transmit and furnish electric energy for light, heat, power and other purposes for public and private use within and through the limits of the City as its boundaries now exist or as they may be extended in the future. Company may construct, operate, repair and maintain Electric Facilities in, on, over, under and across the Public Grounds and Public Ways of City. 184641 CITY OF LAKEVILLE ELECTRIC FRANCHISE ORDINANCE ORDINANCE NO. 1950 The ordinance grants Dakota Electric Association ("Company"), for a period of 20 years from the date passed and approved by the City, the non-exclusive right to transmit and furnish electric energy for light, heat, power and other purposes for public and private use within and through the limits of the City as its boundaries now exist or as they may be extended in the future. Company may construct, operate, repair and maintain Electric Facilities in, on, over, under and across the Public Grounds and Public Ways of City.
