HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.m12/21/2015 Item No.________ ACCEPT CAR WASH DONATION FROM SUPER AMERICA 17546 KENRICK AVENUE Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the continued acceptance of donated automated car washes for Lakeville Police Department vehicles from Joel Booth, owner of Super America at 17546 Kenrick Avenue. Passage of this motion will result in the continued acceptance of donated automated car washes for Lakeville Police Department vehicles. Overview The donated car washes provide the Lakeville Police Department with access to an automated car wash facility to efficiently and quickly wash the exterior of Lakeville Police Department vehicles. The Lakeville Police Department has been receiving donated automated car washes from this Super America/Joel Booth since at least 2011. We recommend continuing to accept this donation as long as Joel Booth is willing and able to provide this service to the Lakeville Police Department. Kornmann Police Deputy Chief Financial Impact: $0 Budgeted: Y/N ____ Source: __________________ Related Documents (CIP, ERP, etc.): ________________________________________ Community Values: Good Value for Public Services CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO._________ RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM LAKEVILLE SUPER AMERICA WHEREAS, Joel Booth, the owner of Lakeville Super America at 17546 Kenrick Trail, has donated car washing services to the Lakeville Police Department for the past several years; and WHEREAS, Joel Booth has offered to continue donating car washing services to the Lakeville Police Department in 2016 with no conditions or reservations; and WHEREAS, Minnesota State Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation of car washing services to the Lakeville Police Department is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely appreciates and thanks Joel Booth, Lakeville Super America, for his generous donation.
