Accept Donation of Police K-9 Dog Veterinary Services
from Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion:
Move to accept the donation of veterinary services provided to Lakeville Police
Department K-9 dogs by Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital.
Passage of this motion will result in the City accepting the donation of veterinary services of
an approximate market value of $457.54.
Overview
Since 2003, the Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital has provided veterinary services to the
Lakeville Police Department’s K-9 dogs.
The donated veterinary services include vaccinations and preventative medications,
heartgard and flea/tick. Cleary Lake also cares for our K-9s when they are sick or injured.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS, Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital has offered to donate veterinary
vaccinations and preventative medications, heartgard and flea/tick, to the Lakeville Police
Department’s two K-9 dogs for the year 2016;
WHEREAS, the medical care has an approximate fair market value $457.54; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or
personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville
that the donation of veterinary medical care from Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital is hereby
accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOVLED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Cleary Lake
Veterinary Hospital for the generous donation.
