CITY OF LAKEVILLE
DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLES 1 AND 7 OF THE
LAKEVILLE CITY CODE CONCERNING ADMINISTRATION
AND PUBLIC WAYS AND PROPERTY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 1-4-1-1 of the Lakeville City Code is amended to provide as
follows:
The zoning administrator, community & economic development director, community
service officers, fire chief, fire marshal and chief building official within their job
descriptions or as otherwise authorized by ordinance are expressly authorized to institute
in the name of the city any appropriate actions, civil or criminal, including the issuance of
a citation in lieu of arrest, against a person, firm or corporation who violates any
provision of this code. Pursuit of one remedy shall not bar or act as a limitation on any
other remedy the city may have at law.
SECTION 2. Section 7-1-31) of the Lakeville City Code is amended to provide as
follows:
Parking Restrictions: The city council may designate parking areas and may restrict the
length of time parking shall be permitted at any place within city parks. City community
service officers may issue citations for violations. Community service officers are
authorized and empowered to have removed any vehicle from any park in violation of
this section and to have such vehicle placed in storage.
SECTION 3. Section 7-1-4-6 of the Lakeville City Code is amended to provide as
follows:
The city's park and recreation director is authorized to establish rules regulating conduct
in city parks. Copies of the rules shall be posted in each park. Any person who violates
park rules may be ordered to cease and desist by a police officer or community service
officer. If the violation continues after an order to cease and desist, a police officer or
community service officer may order the violator to leave the park. Failure to leave the
park when ordered to do so is a misdemeanor. Citations may be issued by a community
service officer and/or police officer.
