RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR
CHARITABLE GAMBLING
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution granting
approval to VFW Post 210 to conduct off-site gambling.
Passage of this motion will allow VFW Post 210 to conduct bingo at All Saints Catholic Church
on February 6, 2016.
Overview
VFW Post 210 is applying to the State of Minnesota Gambling Control Board to conduct off-
site gambling at All Saints Catholic Church. The VFW Post 210 is a qualified organization and
currently conducts lawful gambling at Baldy’s BBQ.
The application requires approval by City Council resolution.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Does this organization meet the qualifications to conduct lawful gambling?
• Minnesota law allows 12 off-site events each calendar year.

RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR CHARITABLE GAMBLING
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville received an application from VFW Post 210 to conduct
off-site gambling at All Saints Catholic Church, 19795 Holyoke Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Law allows 12 off-site events each calendar year; and
WHEREAS, the application requires approval by City Council resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lakeville
grants approval to VFW Post 210 to obtain an off-site gambling permit from the Minnesota
Gambling Control Board to conduct bingo at All Saints Catholic Church on February 6, 2016.
ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 19th day of January, 2016
