ACCEPT DONATION for POLICE K9 UNIT
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept a $2,5000.00 donation from
Mid-State Reclamation and Trucking in Lakeville and Firehouse Grille in Elko/New Market
(Thomas L. Johnson) for the operation of the Police K-9 Unit.
Overview
Mid-State Reclamation and Trucking and Firehouse Grille offered to donate to the Lakeville
Police Department $2,500.00 for the purpose of operating the Police K-9 Unit. These funds will
be deposited in the Lakeville Police K-9 escrow fund and be used for the operation of the K-9
program.
Primary Issues to Consider
The Police Department appreciates the support of our community and thanks Mid-State
Reclamation and Trucking and Firehouse Grille for its continued support of the K-9 Unit.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS, Mid-State Reclamation and Trucking in Lakeville and Firehouse
Grille in Elko/New Market (Thomas L. Johnson) issued a check in the amount of
$2,500.00 for a donation to the Lakeville Police Department K9 Program; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real
or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing
body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville that the donation valued at $2,500.00 from Mid-State Reclamation and
Trucking and Firehouse Grille is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Mid-
State Reclamation and Trucking and Firehouse Grille for their generous donation.
