March 4, 2o16 MARCH 7, 203.6 CITY COUNCIL MEETING WARWEG ADDITION FINAL PLAT EXTENSION Item No. Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve an extension for the Warweg Addition final plat. Adoption of this motion will allow an extension of time (15 days) to submit the Warweg Addition final plat to the Dakota County Recorder from March 16, zo16 to March 31, zo16. Overview Section 1.0-2-3E of the Subdivision Ordinance requires final plats to be recorded within loo days of City Council approval. The City Council approved the Warweg Addition final plat at their December 7, 2015 meeting which places the deadline for recording the final plat on March 16, 2o16. Since the approval of the plat on December 7, 2o15, Reid Hanson, Mr. Warweg's attorney has been working to finalize the legal descriptions of easements and right-of-way areas that are being vacated as part of the final plat. The corrected legal descriptions are expected to be completed and recorded at Dakota County by March 31. Staff recommends the City Council approve a 15 day extension for the Warweg Addition final plat to March 31, 2o16. Primary Issues to Consider • What will be the status of the Warweg Addition final plat if the extension is not granted? The final plat will expire which would require the applicant to resubmit a final plat application and plans for reconsideration by the City Council.
