Subject: Summary of City Council Actions on Planning Commission Agenda Items
At their August 1, 2016 meeting, the City Council:
• Approved the Spirit Place at Brandtjen Farm preliminary and final plat of one
commercial lot for the construction of an 18,000 square foot PetSmart retail building
(from the June 16, 2016 Planning Commission meeting).
• Approved the Brian Lynch conditional use permit to allow combined accessory
building area greater than 1,500 square feet in the RS-2, Single Family Residential
District located at 18486 Jambeau Court (from the July 21, 2016 Planning Commission
meeting).
• Approved the Christian Heritage Academy conditional use permit to allow the
construction of a private elementary and middle school at Crossroads Church, located
at 17671 Glacier Way (from the July 21, 2016 Planning Commission meeting).
• Approved the Kenwood Place preliminary plat of 30 attached townhome units,
Comprehensive Plan amendment to re-guide a portion of the property from
commercial to low/medium density residential, and Zoning Map amendment to
rezone the property from C-3, General Commercial District to PUD, Planned Unit
Development
District (from the July 21, 2016 Planning Commission meeting).
• Approved an ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance to opt-out of Minnesota
Statutes pertaining to temporary family health care dwellings (from the July 21, 2016
Planning Commission meeting).
