RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT
DAKOTA COUNTY 2017-2021 TRANSPORTATION CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution of support
for the Dakota County 2017-2021 Transportation Capital Improvement Program.
Overview
The Dakota County draft 2017-2021 Transportation Capital Improvement Program (CIP)
provides a comprehensive view of proposed transportation projects throughout the county. The
County’s CIP includes projects that support the transportation needs of the City as well as the
City’s development plans. The City’s support for the County’s CIP facilitates coordinated
improvements to the transportation system within Lakeville. The projects in the County’s draft
CIP are consistent with the City’s draft 2017-2021 Transportation CIP that was presented at the

Details of the exception projects are described in the attached staff analysis of primary issues.
• 162nd St. (CSAH 46)/Kenyon Ave. Traffic Signal

decreased approximately $345,000.
• Dodd Blvd. (CSAH 9) Intersection Improvements

increased approximately $160,000.
• 210th/215th St. (CSAH 70) Reconstruction
Dakota County did not include this project in their draft 2017-2021 Transportation CIP.
Dakota County staff is awaiting the results and recommendations from the County-wide
principal arterial system planning study that is scheduled to be completed in 2017. City
staff is requesting that future CSAH 70 improvements be included in annual CIP
discussions during 2017 and considered for inclusion into future County CIPs.
