HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.kDate: November 21, 2016 Item No. CHANGE ORDER #1 WITH KEVIN CASEY, LLC FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF RITTER FARM DOG PARK Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve Change Order #1 with Kevin Casey, LLC for the construction of Ritter Farm Dog Park. Overview On May 16, 2016 the Mayor and City Council approved an agreement with Kevin Casey, LLC for the construction of the Ritter Farm Dog Park at a cost of $78,420.00. As a result of unforeseen site conditions regarding a high water table and drainage issues on site, the parking lot had to be elevated which included the installation of a culvert under the entrance drive along with the construction of a rain garden and drain tile to prevent standing water from occurring on the site. The additional cost for this work along with the quantity adjustments to base bid items, which includes deducts, totals a net change order of $24,489.00. The approved 2016 Ritter Farm Dog Park budget financed from the Park Dedication Fund is $145,000. An additional $10,607 was fundraised through Lakeville Liquors and Chuck and Don's Pet Supply Company which equates to a total budget of $155,607. The estimated final cost for the dog park construction is $156,654 which is a difference of $1,047 as noted below which can be funded through the Park Dedication Fund.
