CITY AUDITING SERVICES AGREEMENT
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to designate a professional
auditing firm for 2016, 2017 and 2018 and execute a professional services agreement.
Passage of this motion will result in the City entering into an agreement for professional
auditing services with Clifton Larson Allen LLP for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Overview
Staff prepared and issued Requests for Proposals (RFP) for professional auditing services
for the calendar years ending December 31, 2016, 2017 and 2018 for both the City as well
as the Lakeville Fire Relief Association. Six proposals were received from auditing firms.
Staff reviewed the proposals for compliance with mandatory elements, technical
expertise, audit approach, quality of responses, proposal, cost, etc. The top three firms
were identified based upon these criteria and were asked to participate in oral interviews
with the City Administrator, Finance Director and Assistant Finance Director.
The following table identifies the six firms that submitted proposals and their cost
proposals for the three years:

Staff is recommending that a professional services agreement be executed with the
auditing firm of Clifton Larson Allen LLP for providing auditing services for the City.
Staff also recommended to the Lakeville Fire Relief Association (LFRA) that a professional
services agreement be executed with the auditing firm of Clifton Larson Allen LLP for
providing auditing services for the LFRA. The LFRA approved this recommendation.
