POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN AMENDMENT
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the Resolution Amending the
2017 Position Classification and Pay Plan.
Passage of this motion will result in amending Resolution No. 16-171 approving the position
classification and pay plan for non-union employees.
Overview
At the December 5, 2016 meeting, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 16-171 approving the
2017 Position Classification and Pay Plan. It has come to my attention the Civil Engineer (Grade 25)
was inadvertently removed from the plan.
The Environmental Resources Technician (Grade 21) and the Planning Assistant/Code Enforcement
(Grade 22) positions were approved as part of the 2017 budget process. However, the two positions
were not included on the 2017 Position Classification and Pay Plan.
Primary Issues to Consider
• What changes are proposed?
Adding the Civil Engineer, Environmental Resources Technician and the Planning Assistant/Code
Enforcement positions to the 2017 Position Classification and Pay Plan.

RESOLUTION AMENDING THE
2017 POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted pay plans from time to time to provide for the
compensation of employees in various positions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. #16-171 approving the 2017 position and
pay plan for non-union employees; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Engineer, Planning Assistant/Code Enforcement and Environmental
Resources Technician need to be added to the 2017 position and pay plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota:
1. The attached amended pay plan is hereby adopted for the positions listed and will be
effective January 1, 2017.
